RECAP FOR THE WEEK OF: Jan 18th, 2010

Minor cycles are positive this week, and negative next week. Major cycles are negative for the next month. We may see a pop to the upside this week, but it should be short-lived. There is a powerful storm a brewing. Expect "sudden events" in the world to negatively effect the markets over the next two weeks. Don't get caught being long!

I expect Tueday to be the big mover this week.

Follow-up

How many times do I have to say this: my big mover prediction suck around holidays. Tuesday was a big mover, but it was not even close to being "the" big mover.

A one day rally to new highs, then a sudden reversal to the downside. I think we predicted last week fairly well.

FORECAST FOR THE WEEK OF: Jan 25th, 2010

Markets have been moving in a ever narrowing wedge for a number of months. Last week the OEX, QQQQ, and many other markets finally broke-out of the wedge to the downside. This points to further declines.

Monday the markets made a 15-month high before turning down. There are a number of important factors associated with this high pointing to lower lows:

• It came one week before the Gann weekly reversal we have been waiting for.
• Monday was a 50% retracement from the high in Oct 08 to the low in Mar 09.
• Candlesticks last week show an almost perfect Three Black Crows reversal.

If markets move up, or go sideways during the first part of the week, expect sharp loses on Thursday and/or Friday.

This week we have a weekly Gann reversal and a daily Gann reversal on 1/27.

Last week, OSS subscribers were told to buy OEX puts.

I expect Thursday to be the big mover this week. Don't forget Jobless Claims will released on Thursday.
